Ella Enchanted

A good book that I think is fun and interesting for children is Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine.  This story is full of imagination, magic, spells, love, friendship, and obedience.  It starts out with Ella, a new born baby, who is put under a spell by a fairy named Lucinda.  It is an obedience spell, which means that no matter what someone tells or commanders her to do, she has to do it no matter what.  She was in great danger because someone could tell her to do bad things and she would have to obey.  Her evil step sister catches on to the spell, because Ella was commanded not to tell anyone, and uses it for her own advantage.  This fascinating story is full of mystery, fantasy, and fun, a great fairy tale for children.  I chose this book because I love fairy tales and happy endings.  It gives children something fun to read and they are able to explore their imaginations.  I did not read the book until I watched the movie, and they are both pretty good, but the books are always betterJ.  It is a great book for children as well as adults, so if you are in search for a good fairy tale, check it out, it is really a great read!
