The Magic Tree House Series is something I enjoyed reading as an elemenary student. The series is by Mary Pope Osborne and is geared more towards second-third graders but I know several other age groups that enjoy reading this series. The series is about a brother/sister duo that goes on wild adventures with the use of their magic tree house. They find that they must use their brains, teamwork, and the information that they have learned from books to safely get themselves back home. The characters are well developed and the plaot is fast paced. The author does an excellent job on reeling the reader and maintaining their attention. I would suggest any teacher who has beginner or intermediate readers to include some of The Magic Tree House books in their class library.
